Susan Nimoy and Mark Borden
Susan Nimoy and Mark Borden
Two vignettes: 1)The first vignette addresses a graduating MBAs decision between two job offers: one from a small start-up and one from a larger more established company. The second vignette features a CEO who is forced to layoff a significant portion of his workforce (at a Silicon Valley software start-up) after the market crashes and investors become jittery. The CEO must guide his staff through the layoff, and then deal with legal (and HR) issues that arise as a result. Issues include a potential lawsuit for gender and age discrimination, and a possible violation of a federal regulation on layoffs.
