Alpha Epsilon Phi is committed to fostering strong friendship and sisterhood between women. The Beta Iota Chapter of AEPhi at Stanford is dedicated to sisterhood, community service and personal growth. We are a diverse, close-knit group of sisters that are active in both on-campus and community organizations. We are a historically Jewish organization. Although many sisters are active members in the Stanford Jewish community, we do not require our members to be of the Jewish faith or to participate in any religious activities. 

Our History

Alpha Epsilon Phi  was founded by seven Jewish women at Barnard College in New York City on October 24, 1909. Barred from other sororities due to their religious beliefs, our founding sisters created AEPhi to uphold nondiscrimination and acceptance. Their goal was to foster lifelong sisterhood, academics, social involvement, and community service while providing a home away from home for their members. 

Since then, AEPhi has chartered over 100 chapters nationally and initiated over 100,000 members. AEPhi prizes individuality and encourages each member to discover and develop the talents and traits that make her unique. The Stanford chapter of AEPhi was founded in 2007 by seven Stanford women looking for a unique bond of sisterhood, and on May 28, 2010, we were officially chartered by our national organization as the Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi.

A Message From Our President

Hello and welcome to AEPhi at Stanford!

My name is Feddi Roth, and I am honored and privileged to serve as the President of the Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi.  Becoming an AEPhi sister has been one of the best decisions I have made here at Stanford, and I am excited to introduce our chapter to you.  My sisters are some of the most inspiring women I know. 

Our open motto - Many Hearts, One Purpose - embodies who we are as an organization.  From Quidditch to Black Student Union,
Axe Committee to Viennese Ball, the women of AEPhi are involved in all parts of campus life.  Together, we foster an irreplaceable friendship, supporting our fellow sisters in all they do.
