Stroll through Stanford’s Athletics District with an enthusiastic student guide[1]. The tour gives a broad overview of Stanford athletics, highlighting not only the breadth and achievements of its competitive teams, but also recreational opportunities for Stanford students at all levels, including varsity athletics, club sports, intramurals, and personal recreation.

This is a tour for prospective students and Stanford sports fans of all ages, focusing on the rich history of Stanford Athletics, the wide array of sports and recreational opportunities offered at all levels, the vibrant culture surrounding our sports teams, and the wellness of our student body.

ABOUT THE TOUR
Highlights This walking tour provides views of many of Stanford’s world-class athletic facilities[2], including (but not limited to):
  • Taube Family Tennis Stadium
  • Avery Aquatic Center
  • Klein Sunken Diamond and Smith Family Stadium
  • Cagan Soccer Stadium
  • Cobb Track & Angell Field
  • Playing fields for rugby, lacrosse, and field hockey
  • Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation
  • Ford Center

[1] This tour is led by student staff of the Stanford Visitor Center, not by the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER), and is in no way meant to serve as a tour for athletic recruits. Students wishing to find out more about playing for Stanford teams should visit www.gostanford.com.

[2] While the tour path does wind through many of Stanford’s athletic facilities, it does not provide entry into Stanford Stadium, Maples Pavilion, or departmental offices. It does, however, provide close-up views of the majority of our complexes, playing fields, and recreational facilities.
