What Is OBI?

OBI stands for Oracle Business Intelligence – a suite of reporting and analysis tools in an easy to use interface. The Evolve Financial Reporting (EFR) project is using OBI to evolve financial reporting, by enabling high quality business decisions through an integrated set of reporting and analysis capabilities.

OBI delivers the right tool to the right people with the right skill level:

  • Report Viewer authority:  Pre-defined and interactive reports for administrative and financial staff
  • Intermediate Ad Hoc authority:  Robust and dynamic ad hoc analyses for budget officers and experienced financial analysts

Why Use OBI?

OBI offers many advantages over the static reports found in ReportMart3. The tool has one reporting interface, with a common data foundation. Users can quickly navigate across intuitive subject areas, drill into transaction details, and save customizations. Data is integrated, consistent and accurate.

When Will OBI for Financial Reporting Be Available?

OBI Financial Reporting is being released in phases by business function. In each phase, campus was fully engaged in the process, from requirements to design to user acceptance testing. Each phase offers both dashboard and ad hoc reporting capabilities.

OBI Reporting being released in phases by business function: Payroll and Labor Management Reporting completed on August 19, 2013; Integrated Payment and Expenditure Reporting releases in three phases: Expense Requests Reporting completed on February 9, 2015, Consolidated Expenditure Reporting on March 21, 2016, and Procure to Pay Detail Reporting completed on April 10, 2017; Revenue and Fund Management Reporting is targeted to release in August 11, 2017; RM3 final retirement target date is on October 31, 2017
