As required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, mandated reporters are required to report reasonably suspected concerns of child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities. Failure to report can lead to criminal liability.

The School of Medicine's Child Abuse website assists affiliated healthcare personnel of Stanford University Medical Center and the surrounding community with questions about recognition and management of suspected child abuse.

Reporting to Stanford

In addition to reporting suspected concerns of child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities, Stanford encourages individuals to inform their supervisor and the Stanford Compliance and Ethics Office. Click on the button below to report suspected concerns of child abuse and neglect to Stanford. 

Please note, notifying someone other than the proper authorities does not satisfy a mandated reporter's legal obligation.
