Andrea Gilli

Andrea Gilli is an affiliate at CISAC and a postdoctoral fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs of Harvard University's Kennedy School where he works on technological change and the implications of the first and second machine age for international security. He holds a PhD in Social and Political Science from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. In 2015 he was awarded the European Defence Agency and Egmont Institute’s bi-annual prize for the best dissertation on European defense, security and strategy. Andrea has provided consulting services to both private and public organizations, including the EU Military Committee and the U.S. Department of Defence's Office of Net Assessment, and worked and conducted research for or been associated with several institutions, including the NATO Defense College, the Royal United Services Institute, the European Union Institute for Security Studies, the Saltzman Institute for War and Peace Studies at Columbia University in New York and the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. Andrea’s research has been published in Security Studies, The RUSI Journal, and Washington Post’s Monkey Cage.
