Unless you support radical decarbonization -- 100% carbon-free energy in the U.S. by 2030 and a plan that centers justice and equity like the Green New Deal -- you are a centrist and you are risking the very existence of human civilization and I will not be quiet about this.

Reminder: the idea we can geo-engineer our way out of this warming mess has no basis in present reality. 29 European science academies did a feasibility audit of negative emissions tech, & found placing hope in them for staying under 1.5C to be absurd

IPCC: buy less meat and cheese; eat more locally sourced food & throw less of it away; drive electric cars; walk & cycle; take trains and buses instead of planes; telecon instead of air travel; use a washing line instead of a tumble dryer; insulate homes.

New poll: 73% of Americans believe there is "solid evidence" that global warming is occurring. 52% said that in 2010. Majorities in both parties reported that they would support a carbon tax depending on how revenues are used. Denialists are losing.

In my on-boarding to Congress, I get to pick my insurance plan. As a waitress, I had to pay more than TWICE what I’d pay as a member of Congress. It’s frustrating that Congressmembers would deny other people affordability that they themselves enjoy. Time for .

Update : the organisers say there were actually 75,000 people marching. Most of them were ordinary citizens - the ‘people’ that extremists so often claim to represent.

Senators, Brett Kavanaugh will not say whether a president can pardon himself. Unacceptable! No one is above the law. He is the wrong choice for America.

Senators, now is the time: defend American women from Brett Kavanaugh’s twisted view of birth control and abortion. He will bring back coathanger abortions and criminalize thousands for what should be their own choice.

Can someone explain: how is this not abuse of government power for personal enrichment, and hence, corruption and a violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution?

Let us repeat once more: Average global temperature increases due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases (mostly fossil fuel CO2) in our atmosphere, and this is the result. We can, we must stop using the atmosphere as a dump site....
