Managing Devices in Code42 CrashPlan

Deactivating a device (computer) from within the CrashPlan web console

Step 1: Open a modern internet browser.

  1. Using your favorite browser, browse to the ITS Code42 CrashPlan server web console at: https://su-backup.stanford.edu.
  2. Log in to the ITS Code42 CrashPlan server via Stanford Single Sign-on. Click Sign in using Single Sign-on. The Stanford WebLogin page appears.

  3. Log in using your SUNetID credentials.

Step 2: List your devices and deactivate a particular device.

  1. In the Code42 CrashPlan web console, on left-hand navigation pane, click Devices.

  2. On the right-hand pane, click on the name of the computer you want to deactivate.

  3. Clicking the computer you intend to deactivate brings up a new window.  On the top right hand-side, click the “gear” icon. In the menu, click Deactivate.

  4. Select the checkbox I understand the device’s archive will be deleted and click OK.

  5. You’re done!
  6. If you have another device to deactivate, return to sub-step 1.
