Wilderness Medicine

Looking for some skills and knowledge based in wilderness/rural medicine, but you are not a registered Stanford student? Or, you're a Stanford student and need some different course options? It's a great idea to take a class to enhance your outdoor activity and general emergency preparedness!

Stanford faculty and staff: pre-approval for an emergency preparedness class may qualify you for STAP reimbursement, including WFR.

Not in California?  Try a general web search for your city/town/area and "wilderness first aid" or "cpr" ...

CPR classes:

• Safety Training Seminars (AHA) in Redwood City
• American Red Cross (within 20 miles of Stanford)

Wilderness First Aid/Responder classes:

• Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS (courses in California)
• ReadySF (San Francisco Bay Area based)
• SOLO at Sports Basement (San Francisco, Berkeley, and maybe Sunnyvale) 
• Wilderness Medicine Training Center (courses in other parts of the US)
