The Stanford Symphonic Chorus is a group of approximately 180 students, faculty, staff, and members of the community led by Director of Music and Conductor Stephen Sano. The Chorus generally performs three works a year, one each academic quarter. Each performance typically features a large choral work, and includes other choral or instrumental pieces. See our Performances page for information about past performances.

Due to the upsurge in infection rates due to the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, the Stanford Symphonic Chorus will begin its season in January of 2022. Repertoire for the year is:

  • Winter quarter: Mahler Symphony No. 2, “Auferstehung” (“Resurrection”)
  • Spring quarter: Giancarlo Aquilanti Te Deum (World Premiere)

Auditions will take place in January 2022.
