Faculty Development Overview

Stanford has a wide variety of faculty development opportunities, many of them at the local school level. You can find information here about programs available centrally to help you build mentoring resources for your own career, resources for academic writing and publishing, and opportunities to learn more about leadership. The Center for Teaching and Learning provides programs and resources to help you increase your teaching skills.

In addition, resources to help facilitate discussions at the department or school level about anti-bias skills, tactics and strategies have been developed by a committee of faculty members and administrators representing four schools (Earth, Energy and Environmental Sciences; Education; Engineering; and Humanities & Sciences) in collaboration with the Office of Faculty Development, Diversity and Engagement and the Center for Teaching and Learning. These resources may also be used by individual faculty members for self-study.
