Mobile Ticketing Guide

In an effort to provide a more convenient, sustainable and secure gameday experience, Stanford Athletics will transition exclusively to mobile tickets and parking passes for all ticketed athletic events, beginning with the 2021 fall sports season. With the introduction of the all-new Stanford Athletics mobile app and enhanced My Account portal, managing your Stanford Athletics tickets has never been easier! Mobile ticketing will help provide an additional level of security, guarding against the production of fraudulent and counterfeit tickets.

Heading to the game?

Store and access your tickets securely in your Apple or Google Pay Wallet (recommended), Stanford Athletics Mobile App, or your online Stanford Athletics ticketing account. Tickets stored in your mobile wallet will automatically update when game times are set, can easily be opened from your device’s home screen on the day of the event, and do not require Wi-Fi or cellular service to be accessed.

Can’t make the game?

Using a mobile device or desktop, you can easily transfer tickets to friends via email or text message, resell tickets on StubHub, exchange tickets from one game to another*, or gift your tickets back to Stanford Athletics for use by another fan or nonprofit organization.

We recognize that this will be a change for some and have created the resources below to help all Cardinal fans find, manage and use their tickets for all ticketed Stanford Athletics events. While we will no longer offer paper tickets, we are excited to offer fans the opportunity to order commemorative tickets to continue the tradition of having a keepsake to commemorate an event or game, and for nostalgia for years to come.

  1. What are the benefits of mobile tickets?

Mobile tickets offer the convenience of managing your tickets from the palm of your hand, no matter where you are. As long as you have your smartphone, you have your tickets.

The transition to mobile tickets will also provide protection against fraudulent and counterfeit tickets. Mobile tickets are stored securely in your mobile wallet or online account, eliminating the possibility of your tickets getting lost in the mail, or the need to remember to print and bring your tickets with you. Mobile tickets are far more secure than printed tickets and we are actively working to further enhance the security measures protecting your tickets.

Additionally, the Stanford Athletics Ticket Office also now has the flexibility to deliver tickets instantly and update event information (e.g., kickoff times) to each fan’s ticket. We are also excited to reduce paper waste with this transition to mobile-only ticketing.

  2. What if I don’t know how to access my tickets on my smartphone?

Please review and follow the step-by-step instructions provided above. For further assistance, please call (800)-STANFORD or email athleticstickets@stanford.edu, available Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM PST.

  3. What if I do not have a smartphone?

Please reach out to your Account Executive, or the Stanford Athletics Ticket Office by phone at (800)-STANFORD or email athleticstickets@stanford.edu to discuss your options.

  4. What is Apple Wallet / Google Pay Wallet?

Apple Wallet (iOS devices) and Google Pay Wallet (Android devices) are free applications that come pre-downloaded on my iOS and Android devices. If you cannot locate the app on your device, search for Apple Wallet in the App Store or Google Pay Wallet in Google Play.

  5. Can I print my ticket from home?

No. Printed tickets will not be accepted upon entry.

  6. Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

We would not recommend using a screenshot of a ticket for entry into one of our venues. Tickets for events at Maples Pavilion and Smith Family Stadium, in addition to student tickets for football games, will not have barcodes and must be added to your mobile wallet in order to register a valid scan.

  7. What happens if my ticket doesn’t scan properly?

Increasing the brightness on your phone will typically solve the issue. However, Stanford Athletics staff will be happy to solve all scanning issues on-site.

  8. What if I lose connectivity or can’t connect to my account at the event?

We recommend downloading your tickets to your mobile wallet prior to arriving at the event. Wi-Fi connectivity is not required once the tickets are stored in your mobile wallet.

  9. What if my phone breaks, dies or is lost/stolen before I arrive?

You may visit the venue box office on gameday and one of our representatives will re-issue your ticket(s). Please bring a photo ID with you.

  10. Can I have multiple tickets on a single phone?

Yes, you may store tickets for your entire party on one phone. All members of your party must be together when entering the venue.

  11. What if my entire party isn’t with me when I’m ready to enter the venue?

Utilizing ticket transfer via text message is recommended should members of your party arrive at different times. Please see above for instructions on how to complete a ticket transfer.

  12. Does the person I send my tickets to need a Stanford Athletics ticketing account?

Yes. The person receiving the tickets will be prompted to create a Stanford Athletics ticketing account, or log into an existing account, upon ticket acceptance.

  13. What if I transfer my tickets to the wrong person? Can I cancel the transfer?

Yes. You will have the option to cancel the ticket transfer, as long as the incorrect recipient has not yet accepted the transfer. Please call (800)-STANFORD if you need assistance.

  14. Can I transfer my tickets after the event has started?

No. All ticket transfers must be completed prior to the scheduled start of each event.

  15. Is my personal information secure?

Yes. All Stanford Athletics transactions are PCI compliant and your personal information is secure.

  16. Are paper tickets still available as souvenirs?

Yes. Fans will have the option to purchase commemorative season ticket sheets for all sports. Season Ticket Members will receive preferred pricing and the ability to purchase commemorative tickets during the renewal period in advance of each season.

Commemorative tickets for individual games will also be available for purchase for most sports. More information about pricing and how to purchase will be provided in fall 2021.

  17. How much does the Stanford Athletics mobile app cost?

The Stanford Athletics mobile app is free to download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
