California Senate Bill 1343 now mandates training in sexual and gender-based harassment and abusive conduct for ALL non-supervisory employees, academic staff, postdocs, and contingent employees every two years starting in 2020. If you are a supervisor or faculty member, please do not complete this course. This is only for non-supervisory employees.
The first phase of training for non-supervisors began in 2020.
The second phase of training for casual employees, temporary staff, student workers, and those contingents who instruct students such as lecturers, instructors, visiting, adjunct professors or other teaching titles, began in April 2021 with a 30-day due date.

Please note that Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) has launched a separate NCAA state mandated training for DAPER supervisors and coaches. The NCAA education program does not exempt supervisors and coaches from the California mandated Sexual Harassment Prevention and Discrimination Education courses that are administered by the SHARE-Title IX Education Office. The SHP Education & Prevention course (AB1825) will be launched to all faculty and supervisors (including coaches) this May 2021.
Stanford requires all faculty and staff to complete programs that encourage members of the University community to explore ways in which we can nurture respectful workplaces, classrooms, campus living spaces and programs sponsored by the University.
Topics include illegal forms of discrimination, sexual harassment and other forms of sexual violence in our community, reporting obligations, campus resources, how to assist survivors, and how to be a positive “UPstander”.

This program represents a renewed effort to educate University members about illegal forms of discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence. Learn about resources, clarify your obligation to report, how to assist survivors, and be a positive “upstander” in the Stanford community.
If you are a new supervisor or faculty member, do not take this course. Instead, take the supervisor course.
