Absolute madness: the British government wants companies to poison their customers' private conversations by secretly adding the government as a third party, meaning anyone on your friend list would become "your friend plus a spy." No company-mediated identity could be trusted.

“I helped [Snowden] from the bottom of my heart. There was no pressure for me, no thinking twice to help him … What he’s done, I’m very proud of him, he’s a hero.” There are many heroes in the Snowden tale, and they deserve support and protection.

Just to recap: after initially calling our story inaccurate, (and internally calling it “false”), Facebook has now confirmed most, if not all of our reporting. They just waited until eve of Thanksgiving when they thought as few as possible people would be reading.
