Family-Centered Care

Family-centered care means understanding and respecting each family's unique needs and preferences, partnering with you every step of the way as important members of the care team, and providing highly individualized care.  You know your child best, and your contribution is critical to our health care teams. Our commitment to patients and their families reinforces our belief that partnership is the key to exceptional care and the best possible outcomes.

Especially for Parents

Our Parent Mentor Program puts you in touch with caring parents of previously hospitalized children who are trained to provide peer support in partnership with our Social Services teams. Antepartum mentors provide peer support to mothers hospitalized during their pregnancies.

We also offer family-centered care services for our Children’s Heart Center, Transplant Center and Johnson Pregnancy and Newborn Center and Bass Childhood Cancer Center, including weekly parent gatherings to discuss topics related to their child’s care or hospitalization.

Library

Our on-site library provides access to extensive information about child, fetal and maternal health. It is filled with books, videos and other resources that patients and families can borrow, free of charge.

How are we doing?

We encourage you to ask questions and share any concerns. Please let us know how we can best support you and your child.
