About Seed

Seed is a Stanford GSB-led initiative that’s working to end the cycle of global poverty.

We partner with entrepreneurs in emerging markets to build thriving enterprises that transform lives.

Thriving Enterprises: Long-Term Engine for Change

Seed-trained entrepreneurs, empowered with leadership know-how and one-on-one support, are making an impact by:

  • Scaling and strengthening their companies
  • Creating valuable local, regional, and global networks
  • Transforming lives — from employees and suppliers to customers and communities

Seed Transformation Program: Where It All Starts

This year-long, online business and leadership program is designed exclusively for company founders and their management teams. It brings together established entrepreneurs from the most promising businesses throughout Africa and South Asia. Taught by world-renowned faculty from Stanford Graduate School of Business, local experts, and Stanford-trained advisors, participants apply concepts and tools to help grow and scale their companies and positively impact their communities.

Following completion of the program, participants earn a certificate of completion from Stanford GSB and join the Seed Transformation Network to connect and collaborate with other founders. They also have access to seasoned executives, who serve as volunteer leadership coaches and pro bono project consultants, as well as Stanford student interns who are available to work with their company.
