Covid Testing if you are Asymptomatic or Mildly Symptomatic

Information about required Covid testing for Undergraduate Students can be found here.

Information about required Covid testing for Graduate Students can be found here.

If you do not have symptoms associated with COVID, but believe you need a test because of exposure or another reason, you can also schedule a test through Stanford Health Care without a clinician order:

- If you have a MyHealth at Stanford account, make an appointment through Stanford Health Care's MyHealth website or via the MyHealth mobile app

- If you don't have a MyHealth at Stanford account, sign up at myhealth.stanford.org (indicate no access code) OR call Stanford Health Care at 650-498-9000.

Other options for testing include local pharmacies (many Walgreens and CVS stores offer testing).

If you need a test prior to travel, check with your airline; many have partnered with private labs to offer testing with guaranteed return times on results. Note - there may be out-of-pocket expense associated with these 'guarantees', so be sure to inquire.

Vaden Services (Other Important Information for Students)

(last update 04.06.2021)

**Entrance Health Requirements (Incoming Students)**

If you have not yet submitted your entrance health forms, please do so immediately. Failure to comply will result in a hold on your future ability to enroll in courses. More information about entrance health requirements can be found here. Do your part to keep our campus healthy!

**Health Insurance Decision**

ALL incoming students are required make a decision about health insurance (i.e., to remain enrolled in Cardinal Care, or to waive coverage if using another plan) in their first 'registered' quarter of each academic year.

  • If you were registered for classes in Autumn Quarter, whether you were on campus or remote, and you decided to have coverage through Cardinal Care, that decision remains in place through the plan year end on Aug 31, 2021. You do not need to take any further action.

  • If you were registered for classes in Autumn Quarter, but were studying remotely and decided NOT to have coverage through Cardinal Care, and you are now coming to campus for Spring Quarter classes, you may be eligible to enroll in Cardinal Care as a qualifying event. Please submit a Service Now ticket to Vaden's Insurance and Referral Office to request enrollment.

  • If you are a 'Spring Quarter entry' student and have not yet made your decision in Axess to acknowledge or waive enrollment in Cardinal Care, the deadline has passed and you are now enrolled in the plan. More information about insurance can be found here.

**Access to Vaden Health Center Through Assessment of the Campus Health Service Fee ('Health Fee')**

Historically, the Health Fee has been a mandatory quarterly fee (tied to tuition) for all students living in the 9 Bay Area counties. Because of the unknowns and complexities asociated with the 2020-2021 academic year however, a decision was made to assess this fee ONLY to students living on campus in campus affiliated housing (for Autumn, Winter, and Spring). Students who are living in the vicinity of campus (or in CA) and who wish to have care through Vaden may initiate a Service-Now ticket to request that the fee be assessed or go to the 'To Do' item in Axess to request that it be added. The fee is $232 per quarter.
