Career Support
Community Standards
- The Office of Community Standards is responsible for the student judicial process at Stanford. The office adjudicates cases related to possible student violations of Stanford’s community standards, including the Honor Code and the Fundamental Standard.
Dispute Resolution and Legal Issues
- Ombuds Office: a confidential resource for students, faculty and staff who need help resolving questions, concerns, disputes or complaints. The Ombuds is a neutral, impartial and independent office responsible for protecting the interests and rights of members of the Stanford community.
- Legal Counseling Office (LCO): provides free, confidential legal advice and consultation to students at no cost. The LCO gives preliminary advice so that students may be better able to understand the law and seek counseling if necessary.
Financial and Administrative Support and Assistance
Health and Counseling Resources
- The Bridge Peer Counseling Center offers confidential counseling 24 hours/day by phone or in person. Counselors are trained students and services are free and completely confidential.
- Stanford Health Library is free, open to the public and offers consumer health information designed to help you make informed decisions about health and health care.
- Stanford University Emergency Medical Team (StEMS) is a group of certified EMT-basics who are available to provide standby emergency medical assistance at campus events.
- Vaden Health Center, located on campus, has medical services, a pharmacy and a counseling center open to students.
- Vaden also maintains a list of health insurance resources.
- Wellness and Health Promotion Services sponsors wellness classes, workshops and seminars, as well as individual consultations, focused on helping students enjoy a healthy quality of life.
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) counsels students with personal, academic and relationship concerns through short-term individual or group sessions (including couples counseling).
- Notalone.stanford.edu provides resources related to sexual assault.
Immigration Student Resources and Support
- Stanford University welcomes students and scholars from all over the world and will continue support students with immigration issues with updated information at immigration.stanford.edu. The Dean of Students Office can assist international students navigate their unique complex circumstances and connect students to campus resources. As well, the Bechtel International Center will continue to offer community support.
Undocumented Student Resources and Support
- Stanford University welcomes students and scholars from all over the world and will continue to support students with immigration issues with updated information at undocumented.stanford.edu. The Dean of Students Office can assist undocumented and DACA students navigate their unique complex circumstances and connect students to campus resources. As well, the VPSA’s Centers for Equity, Community and Leadership (community centers), will continue to offer community support.
International Students
- The Bechtel International Center offers a variety of services and programs dedicated to enhancing the lives of Stanford’s international student population and easing the transition to what may be a new and different culture for students.
Office for Military-Affiliated Communities
- The Office for Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC) focuses on the administration and management of VA financial benefits, coordinates and supports educational opportunities for military-affiliated communities, and conducts outreach to faculty regarding engagement and support for faculty grants or other funding specifically identified for military and veteran communities.
Safety
- Stanford’s Department of Public Safety provides law enforcement, security, safety, crime prevention and emergency services 24 hours a day from its office on campus.
