Faculty Position in Brazilian and Latin American Education

The Stanford University Graduate School of Education seeks a scholar who studies Brazilian and Latin American Education.  The position will come with tenure at the associate or full professor rank.  Besides fulfilling regular responsibilities as a tenured faculty member in the GSE, the successful candidate will also be expected to provide leadership in the GSE’s Lemann Center for Educational Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Brazil, and to work with the Center’s students, alumni, and partners to support improvement in Brazilian education.  We welcome applications from scholars of any nationality and from all areas and disciplines in the broad field of education.  Scholars should have a strong scholarly record with clear relevance to the Lemann Center’s mission. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and advising doctoral and master’s students in the Graduate School of Education.

Open Rank Professor in Science Education

The Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks a Professor of Science Education (pre-K­–12). We welcome applications from scholars at all ranks in the field of science education, broadly conceived, including science curriculum, science teaching, learning and assessment and/or policy in formal or informal contexts. Experience of practice in teaching science, science teacher education, or science program, support, development, and evaluation are desirable.

Candidates should have an intellectually vibrant trajectory of scholarship. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses with a focus on science education and advise masters and doctoral-level students within the GSE. The candidate will also play a significant role in the science methods courses of Stanford’s Teacher Education Program (STEP) and contribute to the GSE and Stanford community.

The GSE faculty represents considerable diversity, including in its theoretical, methodological, and substantive expertise and interests.  We seek a colleague who can work effectively within this multidisciplinary community.

Faculty Position in Education Data Science

The Stanford University Graduate School of Education seeks an open-rank, tenure-track faculty member who will contribute to a new program in education data science. We are interested in candidates from a variety of academic disciplines whose research exemplifies this emerging field. We invite applications from candidates who specialize in learning analytics, educational data mining, and/or education big data, and who make effective use of new computational methods, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, network analysis and/or natural language processing techniques. A strong preference will be given to applicants who use state of the art computational methodologies to drive discovery and address problems in education.
