Vanessa Shumsky (née Jorion) joined VPGE in 2013 as the Educational Programs and Finance Coordinator to provide day-to-day administrative and logistical functions to support educational programs.  Over the past year, Vanessa has transitioned to the Events and Finance Administrator to plan and execute events relating to Professional Development, Academic Guidance, Interdisciplinary Learning, and Diversity Initiatives.

Vanessa received her BA in Art History from University of California, Irvine and her MA in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University.  She began her career working in museum education and developing community connections to strengthen visual arts programs in Los Angeles.

Outside of work, you can easily find Vanessa hiking around the Santa Cruz Mountains with her husband or hosting brunch with her trusty Belgian waffle maker.
