Map: Tracking Hurricane Sam’s Path

Hurricane Sam weakened to a post-tropical cyclone on Tuesday as it moved north in the Atlantic Ocean, the National Hurricane Center said. Sam was the 18th named storm of the year and reached Category 4 strength, making it one of the strongest storms of the season. The storm never posed a serious threat to land.
