The Associated Press headline for this item is "U.N. rights body condemns Israel for war," which offers a highly misleading impression of the circumstances of the resolution's adoption and the level of consensus on its content. From AP:
GENEVA - The U.N. Human Rights Council on Friday condemned Israel for "massive bombardment of Lebanese civilian populations" and other "systematic" human rights violations, and decided to send a commission to investigate.
European countries, Japan and Canada voted against the resolution, primarily because it lacked balance in failing to name the Hezbollah militia. The United States, which is an observer, has no vote on the 47-member council.
Israeli Ambassador Itzhak Levanon said the discussions were one-sided, referring only to civilian losses in Lebanon while ignoring the deadly Hezbollah missile attacks on northern Israel.
"It is painful and regrettable that the council made a distinction between the sufferings, the blood and the deaths, and this failure will forever be written in the annals of that body," he said.
The council voted 27-11 to pass the resolution, which was proposed by the 57-country Organization of the Islamic Conference. Among those voting for the resolution were China, Russia, India, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Zambia and South Africa. Guatemala and seven other countries abstained.
Although the OIC refused to insert "Hezbollah" in the text, it amended its wording to make an indirect reference to the Lebanese militia, urging "all concerned parties to respect the rules of international humanitarian law (and) to refrain from violence against the civilian population."

Seems to be the "human rights" council is just a little one sided.

Hezbollah did not, pace the main radio and television news programs, "accept the ceasefire." It said it would not observe any ceasefire as long as Israelis were in Lebanon. But the Israelis are not required to leave Lebanon until such time as the international force, with real weapons and real determination to constrain, even disarm, Hezbollah, is in place. So Hezbollah will keep fighting. And Israel is under no obligation to observe a ceasefire that remains unobserved by its meretricious enemy. End of story -- unless of course Hezbollah, on the ropes, decides despite its rhetoric to do what it may be forced by circumstances to do, which is, whatever it says, to observe that ceasefire. Not out of conviction. But because of necessity.
Darura, or Necessity. Darura keeps the peace, and is the only thing that will ever keep the peace, between Israel and those conducting the Jihad against it.

Today a group of canadians held a anti-Hezbollah protest to counter the Pro-Hezbollah
'Peace' marchers , as expected the Police protected the Pro-Terrorists marchers and adived
the Pro-Canada people to not provoke the Jihadists.
When Police were confronted on why an illegal Terrorism Org. like Hezbollah was allowed to promote their genocide fascist ideads , the cop claimed that those higher up in power must make those choices, he's merely keeping the peace.

Very few MSM outlets covered this protest , even since word got out about the Hezbollah link and flag waving with death chants, there is either a fear of becoming another Theo van Gogh

Hezbollah first sends people (not warriors) into Israel to kidnap Israelis, and they are NOT blamed, accused, or held accountable by the MSM and/or the UN.
Israel chases after the kidnapped soldiers, and they are blamed for inciting trouble by the MSM and the UN.
Hezbollah launches poorly- or un-guided rockets into Israel from inside civilian population centers, killing innocent noncombatants inside Israel, and they are NOT blamed, accused, or held accountable by the MSM and/or the UN.
Israel retaliates by attacking Hezbollah sites and incurs all manner of blame, accusation, and accountability assigned by the MSM and the UN.
Then, on top of all this, the UN "Human Rights Council" reprimands Israel for defending itself...
If I got this right, or even only partly right, it would indicate to me the utter uselessness and stupidity of the MSM and the UN.
