War with Photos

Here's a little something for those of you who die Deutsches sprechen, a German language article about the amazing adventures of Green Helmet Man. Check out the photos from 1996. Same guy, different corpse--one hopes.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has video on the story.

It's encouraging to see the German press investigating the many strange coincidences associated with the Qana incident, such as the presence of Green Helmet Man (then and now), the inflated casualty reports, the possible planting of handicapped children within a building that was to be used to stage rocket attacks into northern Israel, usw.

Now, if the French press would only follow suit...

Chatillon:

It was a German newspaper that first started to question the assumptions made about the Gaza beach explosions that killed 9 people a few months back. And there are a few decent political commentators like Matthius Kuentzle (may have the spelling wrong)to speak the truth.

On the other hand, the contribution to the truth from French media has been appalling, most notably the stonewalling over the infamous Al-Dura fraud. French Jewish journalist Charles Enderlin would rather go down in history as resolutely vouching by the integrity of his Arab photographer, than admit that he was completely suckered, despite all the evidence mounted, including that Israeli forces would have had to be firing bullets that were able to make 90 degree turns around brick walls to have shot the Al-Duras, and footage discovered of Palestinians practicing taking falls, etc. as though they had been shot.

But they may have gone too far this time. The shit is really hitting the fan over some of the fauxtography coming out of Lebanon, the Green Helmet guy being one of the stars of the fakery.

Waterdragon it will be interesting to see if green helmet man stops showing up in Lebanon films.

I'm very happy about the video as it proves what so many of us have known but couldn't prove... the scenes from Lebanon are being staged.

The Reuters' withdrawal of suspect photography was well covered on news radio where I live. While this is good, the hard questions have to follow. For instance: Who is lying to whom? What is the purpose behind the dishonesty? Is it a conspiracy to mislead public opinion, particularly in the West? If so, who are the players in the conspiracy and how long has this conspiracy been in play.

I'm sure you and others who post here can add many probing questions of your own. The question remains, Will this thread be followed to its end by anybody in any of the mainstream media?

Yes, the german media is indeed waking up, but is still very split. As soon as I read an article in support of Eretz Israel in a major newspaper, I then turn on the TV to hear some putrid commentary on the national news during the last 5 minutes of the news report.

There are two large national news (TV) outlets: ARD (Channel 1) and ZDF (Channel 2) - both state sponsored but are supposed to be neutral. ARD is definitely more neutral and has actually put out articles and chat commentary in support of Israel. ZDF, on the other hand, is like the BBC of Germany - anti-Israel and borderline anti-semitic.

Without a trace of a doubt the most vile, anti-semitic and anti-american news outlet in Germany is a thing called "Euronews" (which is put out in every language within the EU and then some).

The newspaper that Anne posted the link to, "Bild"-Zeitung, is a boulevard newspaper like the STAR or the ENQUIRER, however, the paper often come up with impressive scoops and the paper is read throughout Germany. Don't forget what they said in MIB II about boulevard newspapers! :)

My suggestion to Hugh would be to open up a standing post page for Germans and americans (english speakers) living in Germany as the readership of jihadwatch among germans is growing very fast. I would be willing to help with necessary translations. I think the readership would get something worthwhile out of it.

Is "Greenhelmet" related to Baghdad Bob?

A few months ago a kind visitor to this site translated "Islam for Infidels" into German, and emailed it to Robert, who forwarded it to me. I managed to lose it, or possibly even to delete it. If that person is reading this thread, and would be willing to email it again to Robert, it will be put up here -- for German-speaking visitors. And anyone who is good at translating from English into a language of which he, or she, is a native speaker, and wishes to translate one or more of the articles to be found by clicking on the bar above, please let me know. They will be put up at this site, in whatever language such texts are rendered.

There are actually more - ARD is a confederation of state broadcasters - NDR, WDR, HR, BY, SDR, MDR etc which tend to reflect the politics of that Landesregierung. Then ZDF was set up in Mainz supposedly as Adenauer's revenge.

They are not supposed to be "neutral" in the way the BBC is supposed to be. They can be biased in one programme or another so long as output overall is neutral. The Board consists of representatives of SPD and CDU - the journalists however are '68ers in many cases - or APOs.

There are some major instances of anti-US, anti-Bush, anti-Israel bias. WDR tends to be more anglophile than most covering Trooping the Colour etc live. The fact is the journalists have much the same sentimentalised pacificism you get elsewhere and it is a sort of Peacenik anti-militarism based on cliched German history.

Anti-militarism is how the Left has imprisoned German political thought since the 1960s
