An Israeli citizen suffered mild to moderate gunshot wounds to his hand Tuesday evening near the West Bank settlement of Shvut Rachel, north of Jerusalem.
According to local settlers, at approximately 8 pm unknown assailants opened fire at an Israeli vehicle travelling east of Shvut Rachel....
The shots apparently came from terrorists positioned at the side of the road.
"This is the fourth shooting in the area in the past four months," Binyamin Council Head Avi Roeh told Ynet.
"This attack is a direct result of the removal of roadblocks. It's only by some miracle that the outcome of these attacks has been no worse than injuries, but you cannot base security policies on miracles."

Wow, everybody blames Obama for everything. Come on "folks" he is brilliant, and is ushering in a new era of "hope and change". His Egypt speech to the Muslim world and the recent speech to the UN show how committed he is to the concept that, he is the one that can change the world. He is the new Post American leader, as he is above the concept of nationalism and national self interest.
The talks that he will commence will foster in a new era of world peace, shared prosperity, and climate stability. Talking without preconditions is to our advantage, after all he can talk anyone under the table and negotiate anything. Even the various Presidents for life will be cowed by his brilliance at turning a phrase. His recent successes at the UN and G-20 show how he has won over Hugo Chavez, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Moammar Khadafy to to his side. With such loyal allies at his side, he is unstoppable.
All world citizens will enjoy a new standard of living and rights. Even if a few will die, it is a price he is willing to pay to negotiate. After all, his suave word and winning smile are all the deterrents we will need to disarm the world. Relax and let the change come.

To those who criticized the roadblocks as a burden and "humiliating" for the poor Palestinians, will these people now be speaking up on the humiliation of being shot by them? Somehow, I doubt it.
Try to compromise with Muslims and they will take advantage of the situation. Utterly defeating them is the only answer. THEY must "feel themselves subdued". Islam teaches them to approach the world as an all or nothing game. On that basis, we must make sure they get nothing. The alternative is they will get it all, and that is unthinkable. A very ugly, cruel world.

You know the guy that didn't get shot is the one that would call a gunshot wound to somebody else's hand as "mild".
To me a mild wound to my hand would be the stuff of paper cuts and/or maybe a slip of a knife in the kitchen.

Mild to moderate? Well, it's OK...just a little flesh wound. Forget about the fact that there was intent to KILL this person...as long as it was only a mild wound no need to worry. I agree, if it was the other way around it would have been use of excessive force and Pallywood would have been filming the victims family wailing as five men carried the poor solu to the ambulance.

Can anyone remember back, just a few short years, to the sort of news that came out of Israel on a regular basis? Suicide bombings, shootings, attacks by "Palestinians" on Israelis, especially Israeli civilians?
Oh, the attacks have not entirely ended--there are still rocket attacks from the "Palestinian territories", and the odd Israeli Muslim who goes on a murderous rampage with construction equipment--but the day-in-and-day-out, grinding fear of Muslim terrorism in Israel is no longer the pervasive horror that it was.
Why is this? Because the much-maligned security barriers and check-points *are working*. The constant complaints about them are, in part, due to the hassles faced by "ordinary Palestinians", who want to come to Israel for work, shopping, and medical care (odd, though, that none of this criticism is ever aimed at their fellow Palestinian Arabs, who made such measures a necessity)--but how much of the complaint comes from those who are "inconvenienced" by the much increased difficulty of attacking Jews?
The story above is just a small foretaste of the carnage that will result if these barriers and checkpoints come down. And yet, I never hear this mentioned in the MSM. Do they not care, or has our attention span become so short that no one remembers why they were erected in the first place?

Israelis who read and comment here - please, when such and such a Jewish town or village in the so-called 'west bank' is mentioned in a news story, tell us whether it is in Judea [Yehuda? what is the correct way to write this?] or in Samaria/ Shomron.

Funny, isn't it? How an ordinary rational citizen, just from reading Islam 101 here at this site, and a few other things beside, and coming to understand a few nasty realities about Islam - War Is Deceit, the Jihad Imperative, Muslim Jew-Hatred, and Treaty of Hudaybiyya - suddenly becomes more able to predict events, and the outcomes of actions, in the supposedly-oh-so-complicated-and-confusing Middle East, than seasoned journalists and politicos.
Memo to the Jewish state of Israel: put the roadblocks/ checkpoints back. For good measure, put up MORE of them. Keep your Wall, or Security Fence, firmly in place. And *ignore* the Muslim whingeing, whining and squawking.
