D.C. United & Soccer

End of a Long Journey

D.C. United is the 10th club in 14 years for goalkeeper Louis Crayton who is hoping to stick around as he will start in the season opener.

A Tough Time to Launch

The Washington Freedom and the new Women's Professional Soccer league as a whole have pledged to control spending and build slowly at a time of economic uncertainty.

Crayton

Louis Crayton has lived in such colorfully named places as Bong Mines and Zug and played for clubs called the Grasshoppers and Young Fellows Juventus but hopes he has found a permanent home with D.C. United. (Toni L. Sandys - Washington Post)
