NAVI MUMBAI: Two jail staffers of the Alibaug prison deployed at the makeshift quarantine centre at an Alibaug civic school, where Arnab Goswami and two other accused in an abetment to suicide case of interior designer Anvay Naik were previously lodged, were suspended on Tuesday after they allowed some of the accused to use their cell phones.

The suspension followed a probe by the jail superintendent that was triggered by allegations that Goswami was active on social media while in judicial custody.

It is yet to be established if the two staffers had provided their cellphones to Goswami. The staffers are subedar Anand Bhere, and Sachin Wade.
