Windhover Contemplative Center

Student reading in the external courtyard of Japanese-influenced modern architecture

Away from the bustle of work and study at Stanford, you can find a quiet sanctuary on campus at the Windhover, a contemplative center.

Windhover was built to house acclaimed artist Nathan Oliveira’s series of paintings and to give Stanford students, faculty and staff a refuge to experience tranquility and self-renewal. Bring your Stanford ID for entrance, leave your cell phone off, and enjoy a moment of repose during your day. Public docent-lead tours are also available from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.
