"Supervisor" Definition for AB1825

California law AB1825 mandates that all supervisors receive a minimum of two hours of harassment prevention training at least every two years.

“Supervisors” at Stanford include:

  • All faculty who are members of the Academic council (tenure line, research, teaching, performance)
  • Senior lecturers
  • All staff members who supervise, direct or evaluate the work of one or more employees (including the supervision of casual, temporary, or student workers)
  • Instructors of any title who supervise other employees

Everyone in these categories must comply with state law.The University cannot exempt any supervisors from this legal obligation.

If you have not completed training by your stated due date you may not be able to remain in a supervisory role.
