Research Library Cooperative Program

The Research Library Cooperative Program (RLCP) coordinates shared onsite and remote borrowing privileges between participating libraries: the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, and the University of Texas at Austin.

Renewing RLCP materials

You can usually renew books borrowed through the RLCP program at least once.

Stanford patrons

To renew materials borrowed from UC Berkeley:

  1. Create a PIN in My OskiCat.
  2. Enter patron name, Stanford Library ID, and the generic PIN number 3403. Alternatively, you may use your Stanford ID instead of Library ID, but preface it with the capitalized letters "SU."  For example: SU01010203.
  3. Click on the "Modify PIN" button to customize the PIN number.  (If you have trouble with this step, call UC Berkeley RLCP for assistance: (510) 642-5425.)
  4. My OskiCat will display the items that are checked out.
  5. To renew all materials at once, press the "Renew All" button.
  6. To renew selected material, check the box(es) beside the title(s) you wish to renew in the RENEW column.
  7. Click the "Renew Selected" button. When items are renewed successfully, a new due date will appear in the STATUS column.

You can also request renewals by emailing rlcp@library.berkeley.edu with a list of the books you want to renew.

To renew materials borrowed from UT Austin:
Submit an e-mail renewal request to stfborrowing@stanford.edu. For each renewal include the transaction number, and the author and title.

To renew materials borrowed from UT Austin:

  • Sign into My ILL with your Library card/Cal1Card number and OskiCat PIN (which are not the same as your CalNet Login information).
  • Once logged in, check the Show Everything box to view your inventory of IBS requests.
  • Renewals are not guaranteed. Click the Renew button to send IBS a renewal message. IBS will then contact the lender to inquire about renewal possibilities for the material. If the renewal is granted, you will receive an email from IBS notifying you of the new due date. Renewals can take up to 5 days to be granted. If the renewal is not granted, you will receive an email from IBS informing you that the renewal request was denied.
