Global HR Programs

Map of the world

The Global HR Programs group supports the university's global workforce presence by establishing Stanford standard practices and guidelines for global employment in keeping with university principles and values, and providing the tools needed to comply with local employment practices.

Stanford Centers around the world include: Chile, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom. Employees or affiliates who work for Stanford in a country other than the United States of America are subject to the laws and tax regulations of the host country, which determine associated employment policies, practices, and benefits; please visit the Cardinal at Work website to learn details about the benefits, vacation, and other aspects of working in another country:

The Administrative Guide, Chapter 12: Global Activities includes global staff policies.

Additional Resources

Many departments and groups at Stanford manage programs, procedures and services related to global business, travel, and other aspects of non-resident employees.
