Who We Are

The University Architect / Campus Planning and Design office (UA / CPD) leads an integrated approach to strategic planning and design excellence in creating a model campus consistent with Stanford's status as one of the leading academic/research institutions in the world. We support Stanford's mission to educate, provide community service and encourage environmental sustainability.

As caretakers of a legacy, the University Architect / Campus Planning and Design office assists in ensuring an integrated and sustainable approach toward the long term planning and management of Stanford's land, buildings, and historic resources. We facilitate and support decision making processes of Senior Administration and Board of Trustees in these areas.

What We Do

As land use professionals, we provide the Stanford community with state of the art expertise in the following areas:

  • Institutional Space Management and Planning

Our department goals encompass:

  • Innovation in the form of strategic thinking and creative practice to improve the results of the planning and capital development processes
  • Creation of effective communication networks with various constituents, both internal and external, as Stanford's responsible liaison in physical design and planning.
