My research focuses on understanding the neurobiology of cancer pain and acute animal pain models, and to improve clinical pain management. This work is roughly divided into 2 parts: studying biological markers of pain pathophysiology and controlling pain in the clinical setting. I am interested in targeted pain control such as voltage-gated sodium channels, transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV1) and opioids. Research methodology will be mainly using electrophysiological and behavioral techniques
