Mark Hlatky Named AHA Distinguished Scientist
Mark Hlatky, MD, FAHA, FACC, received the 2014 Distinguished Scientist Award on November 16. The American Heart Association (AHA) established the award 10 years ago, in recognition of AHA members who have made major and independent contributions to cardiovascular and stroke research.
Hlatky is being recognized for his work in the broad fields of comparative effectiveness research, including evaluations of cost-effectiveness and clinical outcomes, and his development of methods to collect economic and quality of life data.
