The Revs Program at Stanford presents an evening with noted designer Chris Bangle, Managing Director of Chris Bangle Associates and former Chief of Design for BMW Group. Bangle's discussion with the Stanford audience will focus on "Designing Difference in A World of Sameness," illustrated with examples from his daring career as a designer whose work has provoked endless discussion. He is best known for his tenure as Chief of Design for the BMW Group, where he was responsible for bringing the designs of the BMW, Mini Cooper, and Rolls Royce into the twenty-first century. Graduating from the Art Center College of Design, Chris began his career at Opel, and then moved on to Fiat, where he designed the brazen Coupe Fiat. In 1992, he was named the first American Chief of Design at BMW. In 2009 he announced his departure from the auto industry and launched Chris Bangle Associates, his design studio in Italy focusing on new ideas and cutting edge innovation.
The event will be moderated by IDEO partner and Stanford d.school professor Diego Rodriguez.
