Stanford Faculty Development Center for Medical Teachers

Stanford University Geriatric Education Resource Center

Since 1998, with support from the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York City, the Stanford University Geriatric Education Resource Center has distributed innovative educational resources for improving geriatric training in family medicine and internal medicine residency programs. Resources include field-tested stand-alone teaching aids, packaged methods for teaching skills, curriculum manuals, and faculty development programs. Detailed descriptions and order forms can be found on the website at http://sugerc.stanford.edu.

These products were developed by members of the John A. Hartford Consortium for Geriatrics in Residency Training, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and eight academic medical centers: Baylor College of Medicine, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, University of California - Los Angeles, University of Chicago, University of Connecticut, and the University of Rochester. Proceeds are used to cover the cost of producing and disseminating these materials, and to advance our educational mission: assisting medical residents in improving the care of older persons.
