Undergraduate Programs
Undergraduate majors are available through International Relations and Jewish Studies. The Division’s undergraduate interdisciplinary majors, minors and honors programs explore global, regional, and domestic factors involved in contemporary politics, culture and history. Most students study overseas and acquire fluency in a second language as a part of their degree program.
Undergraduate research is supported through the International Relations Summer Research College where students work closely with faculty on current research projects.
Many students pursue careers in government, non-governmental organizations, and business or go on to graduate school in law, business or academic Ph.D. programs.
Students within the Stanford Global Studies Division publish various undergraduate journals:

Minor in Global Studies
Effective 2015-16, a new minor in Global Studies will be offered with specializations in the following areas: African Studies; European Studies; Iranian Studies; Islamic Studies; Latin AmericanStudies; and South Asian Studies.
Graduate Programs
The Division’s M.A. programs attract students from around the globe, building a strong community of scholars. The multidisciplinary programs provide intensive study for students interested in deepening their understanding of history, culture and contemporary policy problems. Each center creates a unique program of study leveraging Stanford’s world class faculty in the School of Humanities and Sciences as well as in the professional schools and affiliated institutes on campus.
Joint degree programs with the professional schools are available as are coterminal programs for Stanford undergraduates interested in pursuing graduate degrees. SGS M.A. graduates often pursue careers in government, NGOs and business.
Certificate Programs
Certificate programs in SGS are offered through the Center for African Studies and the Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program in Iranian Studies and are available to all Stanford undergraduates from any major.
