PhD Post-Doctoral Candidate

Immediate opening for one Ph.D. postdoctoral candidate to join a highly translational surgical and molecular imaging group.

The position is open to both US graduates and international candidates with appropriate visa status.

The appointee will have earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or other related disciplines with a background in imaging and spectroscopy.

Experience with in vivo imaging of experimental small animals (mice, rats is required). Pulse programming expertise is highly valued. Experience with clinical research and patient imaging is a plus.  

The testing of novel contrast agents for molecular imaging is featured, as well as design of illumination and imaging techniques for tissue characterization and elucidation of organ pathophysiology. 

The selected candidate is expected to work independently, with other lab members, and under general supervision of collaborating PI(s), in concert with the Principal Investigator (PI) to move the project(s) more effectively.

The selected candidate may be responsible for the following activities: develop and implement research strategies based on thorough and rigorous literature reviews; develop and modify research protocols; manage data entry and storage; prepare research protocols, reports, abstracts, and manuscripts; attend international meetings; mentor junior members of the lab and students in imaging methodologies.
 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Most meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

A background in robotics, mechanical engineering and 3D printing is preferred.

The selected candidate is expected to work independently, with other lab members including undergraduate students, and under general supervision of collaborating PI(s), in concert with the Principal Investigator (PI) to move the project(s) more effectively.

The selected candidate may be responsible for the following activities:
