Sustainability
We are setting the standard for sustainability in hospital design. We’ll achieve this through multiple ongoing efforts, from renewable energy, to recycling programs, to food offerings, to water conservation.
For example, rainwater, wastewater and condensate water — the liquid formed by dehumidifying indoor air — will be harvested to meet 100 percent of the irrigation needs for all of our new landscaping. This will save more than 684,000 gallons of water per year. Inside the expanded hospital, water-efficient bathroom fixtures and fittings will reduce potable water usage by 30 percent.
