Raşit Pertev is the World Bank’s Resident Representative for Comoros since August 2017. He was previously Secretary of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He first joined the Bank in 2003, and has worked as Senior Agriculture Economist based in Turkey and in Uganda. He accumulates more than 25 years of experience in development. Starting with community-driven development in Zambia, he has served as Assistant Secretary General of the International Federation for Agricultural Producers, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Energy and Chief Negotiator for UN Peace Talks in Cyprus. A former refugee, Raşit holds a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Cambridge and a Master’s in Development Economics from University of London.
