Foreign Activity Registration

Global Business Services is building a University-wide database of international activities, programs and centers both abroad and in the U.S. that will be used for compliance purposes.

This database is not a travel registry. It is intended to record information about core University mission-related activities (teaching, research and patient-care) which are on-going, or which are substantively performed outside of the U.S.

Registration Logistics

Who Should Register

The registration form can be completed by anyone with a Stanford SUNet ID, but access to registered data is limited to those contacts / SUNet ID's previously entered for each activity. This is limited to three individuals, including the sponsoring faculty member and two additional contacts.

Should registered information require editing, only those named contacts will be able to access the information. If you need to add / change access rights, please submit a help request to Global Business Services.

When to Register

FY10 (September 1, 2009-August 31, 2010); or
FY11 (September 1, 2010-August 31, 2011); or
FY12 (September 1, 2011-August 31, 2012)

It is fine for projects to cross over fiscal periods, but not necessary to register projects that were completed prior to August 31, 2009.

Time Required to Complete Form

Completion of the registration information for a discrete project/activity is estimated to take approximately 15 minutes. As long as all the required fields have been completed, it is possible to save the form and come back to it at a later time.
