Child Care Resource and Referral

Call 723-2660 or complete our Appointment Form for one-on-one help with child care and resources. Through in-person appointments, phone and email consultation, plus Child Care Packets, WorkLife provides information on the following:

Children of benefits-eligible Stanford University employees are eligible for all of the on-campus children’s programs.  On-Campus Child Care Waiting List Application.

Elder Care Services

Worklife provides resource and referral to active aging and elder care services through Avenidas Senior Services. WorkLife also provides a monthly support group for Caregivers. Call 723-2660 for more information.

Financial Resources
WorkLife Office does not have any financial programs avaialble for students, however, some of the On-site Child Care centers provide scholarships or assistance to Graduate Students or other students on an emergency basis. Please check with the individual centers for more information.  A state of California child care subsidy program is available for students through Palo Alto Community Child Care, 4 C's or Choices for Children.

School Age Child Resources

WorkLife provides information on afterschool care, summer programs, Kindergarten preparedness and local school district enrollment information.

  • Summer Activities Faire (annually in March) – WorkLife provides an information fair for the Stanford community on summer camps, programs, volunteering and other activities Summer Brochure, “Educational, Employment and Athletic Programs for Youth”– published by The WorkLife Office in March – updated annually, for ages 10 and up.
  • Kindergarten Readiness and Enrollment – WorkLife offers Brown Bags on these topics annually and can provide information on enrolling children in public and private schools in the area.
  • Special Needs – WorkLife staff provide assistance to parents on finding and accessing services for children with special needs, advocating for one’s child and Brown Bags on related parenting topics.
