When I was 17, I was in a skiing accident that left me in a coma and requiring immediate brain surgery to remove a blood clot from my left frontal lobe. I owe my life to the paramedics and brain surgeon and hospital staff, and generous blood donors who ensured the hospital and medical staff had enough blood on hand to tend to my injuries and keep me alive. I hope that by giving blood every 2 months, I can help someone in need of blood, like I was so much in need. Thanks Stanford Blood Center for enabling these gifts of life!
