Emma Collins photoEmma Collins

Hello!  My name is Emma Collins, and I am a senior at Stanford. I am double majoring in economics and art history.  The combination has made for a very fun and interesting academic experience.  I love economics since it mixes quantitative and qualitative thinking, and I think it provides a great foundation for your career and life in general.  Once I graduate, I'll be staying in the Bay Area to work at BlackRock, an investment management company.  Given my double major, I have had a mix of other internship and work experiences, including at multiple museums, the online art startup Artsy, and Fidelity Investments.

I grew up in Boston (go Red Sox!).  Outside of classes, I like to stay active, eat good food, visit museums, go to football and baseball games, and spend time with my friends.

I am here to help with any questions about classes, internships, double majors, or just life at Stanford in general.  Please stop by office hours or reach out by email anytime! Contact Emma.

Audrey Miller photoAudrey Miller

Hello! My name is Audrey, and I am excited to be a peer advisor in the Economics Department. I am a senior majoring in economics and minoring in MS&E and history. Last summer, I interned at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division and have accepted a full-time offer to return next year.  Two summers ago, I participated in the Economics Department Summer RA program where I worked for Professor Bernheim studying framing effects on risk preferences in gambling.

I am particularly interested in behavioral economics, management economics, and finance.  Outside of classes, I enjoy running, cycling, staying active.  I'm looking forward to meeting you all and helping with any concerns about classes, internships, research, or just life as a Stanford Econ major.  Contact Audrey.

Aanchal Ramani photoAanchal Ramani

Hi, my name is Aanchal Ramani and I'm orginally from Ridgewood, New Jersey.  Here at Stanford, I am a senior majoring in economics and minoring in math.

I chose to study economics because I loved the economics courses I took in high school and felt that a degree in economics would prepare me for a career in finance, which I have always had an interest in. Within economics, the fields that I am most drawn to are finance and economic policy applications.  This past summer, I interned at Citigroup in New York, working in Sales and Trading. I've had previous internships at UBS and Merrill Lynch in Wealth Management.

Outside of academics, I have been involved with a number of student groups on campus such as Sanskriti, the South Asian cultural organization; Melody, a community service piano group; the Blyth Fund and Dil Se, a competitive Bollywood dance team.

I am very excited to be a peer advisor for the economics department, please feel free to reach out to me if I can answer any questions or help out in any way. Contact Aanchal.

Libby Scholz

Hi! My name is Libby, and I'm a junior majoring in economics and minoring in political science.  I had trouble choosing between the economics and the political science major, but eventually I realized economics was right for me because of the discipline's approach to problem solving and the great faculty and staff at Stanford!  Thanks to the department, I've enjoyed work at SIEPR, an introsem, Sophomore College with Professor Shoven and amazing classes.

I'm especially interested in domestic economic policy, and while studying abroad at Oxford I did a tutorial in public economics. Last summer, I worked at a hedge fund in San Francisco.  Outside of economics, I'm an Oral Communication Tutor, director of campus activities for my sorority, and involved in Stanford in Government.  I love watching basketball and football- I'm from Madison, WI so you can always find me cheering for the Packers during the fall!

Whether you've already declared and have questions about the major, or if you're trying to decide whether economics is right for you, I'm looking forward to meeting you! Contact Libby.

I hope to eventually go to graduate school in economics.  I'm most interested in applied microeconomics, especially health economics.  Last winter, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy.
