Institute of Socio-Economic Research on Development and Democracy (ISERDD)

ISERDD is a non-profit trust devoted to longitudinal research on social and economic issues. Research has been conducted on the relation between urban health and poverty, the culture of marginalized groups, forms of citizenship in urban neighborhoods, and the relation between religious pluralism and democratic institutions. Apart from developing qualitative and qualitative data sets on these problems, ISERDD has played a crucial role in the development of Simulated Standardized Patient methodology for measurement of practitioner quality in developing countries. ISERDD sponsors seminars, discussions and engages in advocacy on behalf of marginalized populations in urban centers. It has collaborated with many scholars in a range of institutions including Center for Policy Research, Delhi, Child on the Wing Program, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, University of Delhi, Duke University, and the IDPAD program of ICSSR, Delhi.
