This is the sixth of eight films in the annual SGS Summer Film Festival running from June 17th to August 26th.  This year's festival features films from around the world that focus on the topic of “Imagining Empire: A Global Retrospective” and offers a flexible lens with which to look at both historical and contemporary geopolitical and socioeconomic contexts.

This film is a satirical comedy about a poor farmer who, while plowing his field, accidentally uncovers an ancient burial chamber loaded with gold artifacts. Realizing that the trove would somehow liberate him from his bumpkin existence, he brings pieces of it to a jeweler in the city.

The film is followed by a discussion moderated by Bahram Beyzaie, acclaimed filmmaker, playwright, and scholar of the history of Iranian theater, and Abbas Milani, Director of theHamid and Christina Moghadam program in Iranian Studies.
