The IPS Student Association (IPSSA) is an entirely student-run group comprised of first and second-year IPS students. IPSSA’s three key objectives are:

Advocacy - represent the needs and opinions of the student body and nurture a two-way feedback channel between administrators and students. IPSSA also strives to support the IPS administration in program improvement. It suggests and helps implements improvements to the IPS program based on student feedback, ranging from degree requirements to practicum design to social media strategy.

Professional Development - provide networking, skills-building and other career-related opportunities for IPS students to ensure they are able to find and attain positions that best suit their goals and interests

Community Building - foster a community around current student and IPS alumni. We provide connectivity and networking opportunities for current students as well as enhance alumni participation and access.

 

IPSSA Leadership

Radhika Kapoor

Accomplished consultant with strategic management, financial modelling, marketing, sustainability and technology policy expertise, Radhika is a Masters Candidate at Stanford University's International Policy Studies Program. Prior to this, Radhika worked as a sustainability strategy consultant for Indian corporations and completed her MBA and B.Tech from leading institutions in India. 

Emma Kelsey

Emma grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and is delighted to be back to study at Stanford. She received her undergraduate degree in International Politics and International Development from Georgetown University. Prior to Stanford, she worked at the Department of State on foreign assistance programs relating to climate change. At IPS, Emma is concentrating in International Political Economy, and is focusing her studies on economic development and poverty alleviation. In her free time she enjoys cooking, running, and exploring the outdoors.

Leah Nosal

Leah grew up in the greater Toronto area, where she received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Toronto. For her bachelor’s degree, Leah spent time studying international affairs at Sciences Po Paris, and also studied the relationship between urban planning and development at the Bandung Institute of Technology (University of Bandung, Indonesia).

Lucie Zikova

Lucie Zikova is a second year master's student in International Policy Studies at Stanford, concentrating in Political Economy. Prior to IPS, she worked as an investment analyst for a private wealth management firm, where she performed hedge fund due diligence in emerging and developed markets, and helped build a portfolio of alternative investments. She also earned a CFA charter while working full time. During summer 2016 Lucie gained experience in public sector, conducting economic and geopolitical analysis at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. She speaks fluent Czech and English and has an advanced knowledge of German. In the past, Lucie volunteered with The Community Foundation in Boulder, CO increasing public awareness prior to council elections, and with CrossFit Roots launching an athletic program for small children. Lucie is interested in impacting economic development in emerging markets through private sector investments.
