Abstract

To realize that all information flow in the brain is basically electrical.Being aware of recent therapeutic methods of stimulating the brain, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS). Considering that the first instantiations of these devices were ‘dumb’ in that they stimulated without a biomarker, regardless of what the brain was doing. Pondering whether the future of brain stimulation involves more refined methods that stimulate in closed loop fashion, or use rhythmic patterns that are intrinsic to the brain.
