Assistant or Associate Professor - Molecular Neuroscience

The Stanford Neurosciences Institute at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an assistant or untenured associate professor in molecular neuroscience, broadly defined. Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in neuroscience, genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering or any related discipline, and we also encourage applications from physician-scientists.
 
The successful candidate will be expected to develop outstanding interdisciplinary neuroscience research and teaching programs. We are open to applications from individuals working on a broad range of problems, including molecular and cell biology of neurons and glia, genetic approaches to neural and circuit function, synaptic physiology, and advanced imaging of synaptic and neural structure and function. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, and will be able to actively contribute to our growing institute at Stanford.
 
A strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching and advising is essential. Teaching responsibilities include participation in and the development of both undergraduate and graduate courses. The supervision of doctoral students and academic advising of students at all levels is expected.

Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Biomedical Data Science

The Department of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University is recruiting a new faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor level to contribute to the research and educational activities of the Department. The Department was founded in the fall of 2015. We define biomedical data science as the study of biomedical data and information, of how such data and information may be structured, and of how analysis and processing of biomedical data and information will lead to new discoveries and to advances in health and healthcare. Faculty members in the Department are dedicated to the development of novel computational and statistical methods for acquiring, representing, storing, analyzing, and applying biological and clinical data at all scales. We seek applicants with primary interests in those broad areas, who can apply their expertise in biomedical informatics and/or biostatistics to meet departmental goals.

Appointment will be in the University Tenure Line, where the predominant criterion for appointment is a major commitment to research and teaching. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.

An MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, biomedical informatics, computer science, biomedical engineering or a related area is required. We anticipate that the successful candidate will devote 70–80% time to research and the remainder to teaching and other responsibilities.

The Department of Biomedical Data Science brings together Stanford’s world-class faculty in biostatistics, biomedical informatics, and related disciplines. Behavioral Neurologist or Dementia Research Specialist

The Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified behavioral neurologist and/or dementia research specialist to join the Department as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the University Tenure line, Medical Center line, Research line or Clinician Educator line. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.   • The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.

Responsibilities will include care of patients with memory disorders (MCL and CE candidates), and teaching of medical students, residents and clinical fellows. MCL, UTL and Research Line candidates will be expected to carry out cutting-edge research on cognitive aging, Alzheimer’s disease and/or related neurodegenerative diseases. Candidates in the UTL and Research Line will not be required to care for patients though capacity to do so is preferred. Necessary qualifications include a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD. For MCL and CE applicants—ABPN certification or eligibility, eligibility for a California medical license, and suitable clinical and teaching experience. Fellowship training in behavioral neurology or related area is desirable. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Electrical Engineering 

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position depending upon the candidate’s seniority and level of experience. This is a non-tenure line, full-time position that is renewable in subsequent years.

The candidate is expected to organize and coordinate the introductory and core undergraduate courses, along with teaching some subset of them on regular basis (typically teaching four courses during the three quarters of the regular academic year and the summer quarter). Demonstrated competencies include: analog circuits, digital systems, and continuous- and discrete-time signal processing. A strong “hands on” project-based experience is particularly desirable. The candidate is also expected to provide undergraduate student advising and to help coordinate periodic programmatic reviews and the preparation of material thereof.

Applicants should have a strong commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for excellent teaching. All candidates must hold a PhD degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline and have a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience at a university or a college with a strong EE program.
