The University Privacy Office works collaboratively with key partners to achieve its mission to be a valued partner and advisor. Our key partners include: the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), the Information Security Office (ISO), the School of Medicine, the Stanford Hospitals Privacy and Compliance Office, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Internal Audit, and Compliance.
Our key responsibilities include:
- Incident and breach management;
- Privacy training and awareness;
- Establishing and updating privacy policies and procedures;
- Special projects to enhance privacy protections across the Stanford community;
- Providing advice with a view to:

ensure compliance with all privacy laws and regulations;

improve privacy practices; and
