How to Request a Official Electronic Degree Certification in Axess

Alumni who conferred their degree in the past 5 years can order proof of a degree certification document directly through Axess under the Student Tab.

  1. Select the Request Degree Certification from the Academics drop down menu.

2. Select the appropriate certification type Electronic Copy or for a hardcopy, Mail 2nd Business Day.

3. Input Contact Name.

4. Select the Send to Myself or Third Party option. If you choose Send to Myself you must select from the Email Type pull down menu: Primary, or Secondary.  If you wish to email to an alternative email address not on file with the University then you will need to select Third Party.

5. You must type the email address in both email fields to confirm.

6. After you Submit your request you will receive a confirmation page.

How to request an Official Degree Certification if I can no longer authenticate into Axess?

Alumni who graduated more than 5 years ago and no longer have an active SUNetID and password can still request electronic degree certification by using the Degree Certification Request Form (pdf). Requests can be made via mail, email, fax (650-721-1585), or in person at the Student Services Center located at Tresidder Memorial Union, 2nd floor. We are unable to accept telephone or rush requests. If you wish to place your request via email (degreecert@lists.stanford.edu) you must attached a scanned copy of your signed transcript request form.
